We have been following Rami’s work for years and we couldn’t be prouder to have his amazing brand as part of our Self-Care portfolio. Rami is not just the man behind the scents of our Lola James Harper Candles, but a true artist that touches our heart through his art and spirit. We hope you enjoy the interview he gave to us exclusively, below:

What's the story behind Lola James Harper?
Lola James Harper is 20 years of travel with my family gathering pictures, scents and songs from around the world to share some poetry and hope...

Lola's DNA is not just about candles, but it is about love and art; This resonates from all your work. How is this received by the world and what is the biggest message you want to pass on?
Thank you for that... :-)  I want through scents and photography of places we love, through songs and movies to help keep some room from dreams... To inspire being more open and positive about our world and its magic...

Which scent would you say is Lola's best one and why?
Lola James Harper is about openness, diversity, inclusion and togetherness... Together is always better... There is no “best one” but “great together”...

What was the last thing that got you inspired and what did you create?
I read again that amazing photography book about 80’s Brooklyn called “Back in the Days" by Jamel Shabazz and it inspired me to design a Lola James Harper T-Shirt line...

If Lola was an animal, a book and a flower, what would it be?
Animal: dolphin
Book : Siddhartha of Hermann Hesse
Flower : orange blossom

Which Lola candle do you have lit on as we speak?
I am having “Promenade in Vincennes Wood” lit in front of me and “vinyl Store” in the other room...

What do you love most about Greece and our Ma Cherie stores?
Greece has the best light, the best blue color and the best energy...

If you were to create a scent for Lola inspired by Greece, which notes would you definitely add and why?
I would definitely use the rose since in the Greek mythological goddess Aphrodite uses rose fragrance...
