Our latest action inspired by the World Environment Day

Body Title:

Recycle your old swimsuits!

Here at Ma Cherie, we believe that earth is our home and protecting it is the basis of every sustainable and wellness lifestyle.

When it comes to the fashion industry, every year over 300.000 tonnes of textile waste all over the world, end up in landfills and less than 1% of the material used is recycled into new clothing.

Leading up to the World Environment Day (June 5th), our team proposes some actions that may seem small, but have a big impact when it comes to protecting our planet:

1. Donation: Give clothes you no longer need to your friends, non-profit organizations or thrift shops.

2. Alterations: Bring your favorite old pieces to life! Dye them, tailor them or add new elements to them. You can transform them completely by changing their use. (For example, old wool sweaters can be transformed into carpet linings)

3. Maintain/ reuse: Fashion is known for repeating its self! Keep your favorite pieces in a clean and airy space as it is very likely they will be back on trend soon.

4. Exchange: Exchange clothes you no longer wear by organizing a fun exchange party with your favorite friends.

5. Εducate yourself: Seek information regarding your favorite brand's sustainability policy and prefer those that are more socially responsible and leave a positive impact on the environment.
